May I introduce ourself... we are two french guys and we have crossed Canada from Quebec City to Vancouver, hitchhiking all the way (except in the US : Detroit - Winnipeg).
So, we have cross 4300 km hitchiking and had 47 rides. We have give our stat to Mat and we hope he will publish it on this site.
Generally, hitchhiking works in Canada. We used to wait no more than 1 or 2 hours. But one time, we have wait 1 day.
Some other time, we had great meeting, and stayed with the person for a few days.
The best way to go quickly around is to check the truckers, cause lot of them use to cross Canada alone and wish for some people to talk to.
